Vishwanath Raman

Vishwanath Raman has over twenty years of experience in the technology industry. Vishwanath began their career in 1995 as a Software Consultant at Silicon Graphics, Inc. In 1996, they moved to Intergraph as a Senior Software Engineer. In 1998, they joined Synopsys Inc. as a Staff Engineer and was part of the Verification Group working on formal property verification and simulation. Vishwanath was a member of the technical committee that defined the IEEE VHDL PLI standard 1076c-2007.

From 2004 to 2009, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz - Jack Baskin School of Engineering. During this time, they developed an intelligent agent for in-car interactions and worked on the theory and applications of Stochastic Games for formal analysis, the quantitative measurement of author contributions to the Wikipedia, and directed testing and scheduling of multi-threaded C programs. During 2009, they were a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria and a Summer Intern at the NASA Ames Research Center.

In 2010, they joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Research Scientist. In 2013, they moved to FireEye, Inc. as a Principal Engineer and Sr. Staff Software Engineer, where they worked on the Mobile Threat Prevention platform. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Principal Scientist at StackRox (acquired by Red Hat).

In 2018, they joined Oasis Labs as the Head of Enterprise Solutions and Privacy Architect. In their roles, they have worked cross-functionally across engineering, product, marketing, and business development to drive adoption of privacy technologies. Vishwanath'sengagements have included a platform for threat intelligence sharing for the CryptoSafe Alliance, a joint Binance Oasis initiative, and controlled access to sensitive data for the BMW Group using differential privacy.

Vishwanath Raman obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University. Vishwanath then went on to pursue a PhD in Computer Science from Baskin Engineering at UCSC, which they completed in 2010.
