Jamie-Clare Flaherty has a diverse work experience focusing primarily on legal and strategic roles. Jamie-Clare has worked at the Obama Foundation, starting in March 2017 as the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Public Engagement. Jamie-Clare later served as the Interim General Counsel from July 2021 to November 2021, and is currently the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel from November 2021.
In addition to their work at the Obama Foundation, Jamie-Clare Flaherty has also worked as a Board Trustee at the Illinois State Universities Retirement System since April 2019. Before that, they were the Vice President & Chief of Staff at Ariel Investments from June 2014 to March 2017.
Jamie-Clare Flaherty has a legal background, previously working as an Associate at Foley Hoag LLP from September 2011 to June 2014. Jamie-Clare also served as a Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California from September 2010 to September 2011.

Jamie-Clare Flaherty completed a Law degree (JD) at the University of Michigan Law School from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2006, Flaherty earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Science and Theatre & Drama at the University of Michigan. Currently, Flaherty is pursuing a Next Gen GC degree at The Vanguard Network, beginning in 2022.
