Daniel Küpfer has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Daniel started their career in 1986 as a Lithographer at FO-Fotorotar. Daniel then worked at the Swiss Armed Forces in the Combat Engineering Branch in 1990. From 1989 to 1992, they served as a Deckhand and Mate at Fr. Lürssen Werft GmbH & Co. KG. Following that, they worked as a Ship Mechanic at NSB GROUP from 1992 to 1995. In 1997, they joined Hapag-Lloyd Cruises as a 3rd, 2nd, and Chief Officer. From 1999 to 2003, they worked as a Consultant and Captain for a UHNWI Family Office. Daniel co-founded Ocean Management in 2003, where they served as the Co-Founder and Managing Director. In 2015, they became the Managing Director and Member of the Board at Ocean Independence.

Daniel Küpfer obtained a Bachelor Professional degree in Nautical Science from HSB Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Maritime Vocational School - Elsfleth & Travemünde from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained a Shipsmechanic (MPC) qualification. In 1986 to 1989, they attended Schule für Gestaltung Zürich and obtained a Lithographer diploma. Additionally, Daniel Küpfer received a Master Mariner certification from the Federal Republic of Germany in 1999.
