Johan Gustafsson has extensive work experience in various industries. Johan started their career as a Sales Assistant at Sparköp Gerdsken in 1990 and later became an Assistant Manager at Ica Knuten i Hulan. In 1997, they joined the Swedish Armed Forces as a Platoon Instructor, where they trained youth in basic military skills.
Gustafsson continued their military career and became a Platoon Commander for combat boat training and later led a mortar platoon in Kosovo. After leaving the military, they worked as a Department Manager at ICA Maxi.
In 2006, Gustafsson joined Transas as a Project & Service Manager and was responsible for the implementation of SVDR&VDR. Johan then took on various roles at Transas, including Managing Director, Vice President of Sales Europe, and Vice President of Sales MEAI.
In 2015, they became a Member of the Board of Directors at Transas and also served as the Managing Director of Transas Marine Pacific, responsible for the Asia Pacific Market. In 2016, they became the Vice President of Sales Operations and later the Vice President of Global Sales.
In 2019, Gustafsson joined Wallem Group as the Chief Operating Officer. The following year, they became the Chief Revenue Officer at Ocean Technologies Group.
In 2018, Gustafsson briefly worked for Wartsila Corporation as the Director of Transas Global Sales in Wärtsilä Voyage Solution.

Johan Gustafsson attended Dergårdsgymnasiet from 1990 to 1993 and obtained a diploma in Economics. Johan also studied at Dergårdsgymnasiet from 1990 to 1992, earning another diploma in Sailing Athlete Gymnasium. Later, in 1996, they attended Militärhögskolan and became a 1st Second Lieutenant. In 1998, they completed their studies at Militärhögskola and received the title of 2nd First Lieutenant in Military and Strategic Leadership. Furthermore, Johan Gustafsson attended Militärhögskolan from 2003 to 2004, where they obtained the degree of Captain in Business Administration and Management, General. Finally, in 2011, they studied Business Management at IHM Business School.
