About OceanX:

Position Summary:

Working closely with the VP of Partnerships, the Director of Partnerships, APAC is responsible for the development of relationships across a wide variety of potential funders in the region, including government entities, foundations, climate funds and multi-laterals, corporations, ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices. This Director-level role stewards a portfolio of current partnerships and cultivates new relationships by remaining active in the fundraising community. This person represents the global partnership team in the region.  

Estimated hire date is October-November 2024. 


Position Location:

​This position will be based in Singapore and will require flexible working hours (for meetings with stakeholders in the United States). 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Directs the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of potential funders including, but not limited to, government entities, foundations, corporations and individuals across SE Asia
  • Manages a portfolio of current partners and tracks and monitors their programmatic activity as needed  
  • In partnership in with Partnerships Manager, maintains the pipeline of active partners, and develops list of prospects and actively works that list with outreach and inquiries
  • Maintains summaries and reports in CRM for all active relationships, including putting together weekly partner summary reports
  • Follows business engagement process precisely and works closely with the New York headquarters to ensure compliance with legal and operational machines
  • With leadership, develops new proposals to support and expand partner engagement opportunities
  • Works in close collaboration with leadership to ensure understanding of programmatic innovations and partnerships needs and to communicate that information to various audiences
  • Works collaboratively with other staff across the institution to cultivate partner relationships
  • Ensures appropriate acknowledgment, stewardship and recognition of prospects and active relationships
  • Creates materials and knowledge base for partnerships efforts, and provide updates and strategies, as required 

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: 
    • 10+ years of track record in fundraising
    • Proven experience in stewardship and managing non-profit fundraising  
    • Proven track record of interacting with high-level contacts and closing deals of seven figures
    • Ability to author presentations, analytics, and data-centric reports
    • Extensive experience using a CRM
    • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external audiences through exceptional personal presentation and persuasive writing
    • Desire to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
    • Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constrains and with strong attention to detail   
    • Non-profit partnership experience, a must
    • Bachelor’s degree, with graduate degree preferred 

    • Considerable international and weekend travel
