Leanne le Signe

Leanne Le Signe has a diverse work experience in the legal and governance field. Leanne is currently the Head of Group Legal & Governance at Ocorian since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Legal Counsel at Ocorian from January 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining Ocorian, Leanne worked at Aztec Group as a Legal Counsel from January 2018 to January 2021. In this role, they provided comprehensive technical support across different offices and advised on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. Leanne also ensured the implementation of robust policies and procedures to manage legal risks.

Leanne also has experience working at Saltgate Group, where they held two roles. From September 2016 to December 2017, they served as the Head of Depositary Services / MLRO, managing depositary operations and establishing business relationships. Prior to that, from December 2015 to September 2016, they were a Senior Manager, Client Services, assisting with property transactions and FATCA/CRS compliance.

Before joining Saltgate Group, Leanne worked at Moore Stephens Channel Islands as a Legal Counsel - Investment Funds from February 2014 to December 2015. In this role, they managed a team of fund administrators and ensured compliance with fund regulations.

Leanne also gained experience at Elysium Capital PLC (liquidated) as a Legal Counsel / Head of Corporate Services & Compliance from August 2013 to January 2014. Their responsibilities included liaising with legal counsel and regulators, maintaining company records, and reviewing service agreements.

Leanne started their career at Harneys as an Associate (Investment Funds) from October 2012 to January 2013. Here, they assisted with the establishment of a new office in Singapore, drafted fund documents, and provided legal opinions.

Leanne also worked at Bedell Cristin as a Lawyer (Investment Funds, Financial Services, and Listings) from August 2010 to October 2012 and as a Global Compliance Associate from October 2009 to August 2010. In these roles, they advised on regulatory aspects, monitored compliance, and analyzed non-compliance trends.

Earlier in their career, Leanne gained experience at Ogier as a Legal Compliance Associate and as a Paralegal and Trainee Solicitor of England & Wales. In these roles, they handled compliance matters, drafted compliance programs, and worked on various legal deals.

Leanne began their career as a Bursary Student in International Finance at Mourant during university holidays from July 2002 to June 2005.

Leanne Le Signe has a diverse educational background spanning several years. In 2002, they enrolled at the University of Exeter, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, which they successfully completed in 2005. Subsequently, Leanne continued their studies at the same university and obtained a post-graduate diploma in Legal Practice in 2006.

In 2008, Leanne attended BPP Law School to undertake the Professional Skills Course (PSC) for a short duration. Later, in 2009, they attended Cactus Language School in London for a course in Beginners Chinese (Mandarin).

Continuing their professional development, Leanne attended The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) at the Jersey International Business School in 2012. Here, they completed the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), which was a brief course.

In 2015, Leanne pursued further education at The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland, where they pursued the One Study Chartered Company Secretary (CSQS) course. This course lasted for a year and ended in 2016.

Leanne's most recent educational endeavor was in 2016, when they attended the International Compliance Association. Leanne completed the International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, Level 6.
