Amar K. began their professional career in 2013 as a Bookseller at Barnes & Noble, where they enriched the store environment by organizing novels and other products in their designated locations, provided excellent knowledge of products and presented an approachable attitude for courteous customer service, and collaborated with other booksellers/managers in order to aid customers or help with store projects. In 2014, they worked as an Accountant Clerk at Rudolph and Sletten Inc., where they maintained office environment and past accounting records to file within the company archive, coordinated digital archives for current and future accounting records for paperless archiving, and demonstrated computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel in order to establish organized accounting records. In 2016, Amar K. held two roles at the University of California, Berkeley - an Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship - Herpetology Lab Assistant, where they collaborated with various other assistants and researchers for projects related to reorganizing all species' archives contained within the Museum, contributed to creating educational displays of the Museum's collections for Cal day, and maintained biological specimens by organizing species within the herpetology department according to the preferences of the researchers and principal investigators; and a Residential Life (Unit 2, UC Berkeley) - Security Monitor, where they monitored residents/non-residents entrance into the residence halls and provided positive customer service, initiated safety/security precautions by informing residents about crime through education and providing resource information, and reported dangerous activities and/or suspicious person(s) both inside and outside of the residence halls to residential staff and/or University of California Police Department. In 2018, Amar K. began working as an Ophthalmic Technician at Tearse Eye Care, where they built and managed relationships between clinic and hundreds of patients for maintaining optimal ocular health, established rapport amongst all patients and their local providers, and used their problem-solving talents for handling difficult patients and showing empathy for deescalating tense situations. Amar also had experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, especially when keeping the ophthalmologist and optometrist on schedule. Most recently, in 2020, Amar K. began working as a Digital Health Support Specialist at Octave Bioscience.

Amar K. attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2013 to 2017 where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology.
