Amir Pourmousa

Amir Pourmousa, PhD, is a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at OCTOPYD since January 2021. Previously, Amir served as Principal Engineer at Monolith Materials from July 2015 until May 2025, focusing on clean carbon black technology. Prior roles include Lead Engineer at Eaton, managing cylinder deactivation technology, and Analysis Group Manager at LightSail Energy, where Amir developed a dynamic system model. Amir also held positions at Simulent Inc. as a Senior R&D Specialist and at Hatch in specialized engineering analysis and design. Amir's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Quantum Optics from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Sharif University of Technology.
