Ignacio Ares

Ignacio Ares, MD, is a consultant ophthalmologist at Potsdamer Augenklinik im A.-v.Graefe-Haus GmbH since March 2023 and serves as the Director of Medical Affairs at OD-OS GmbH, where Ignacio is leading a multicenter clinical study entitled "Macutherm" in collaboration with Hannover Medical School. As the founder of Novaugen since March 2018, Ignacio has actively contributed to the field of ophthalmology. Previous roles include an ophthalmology resident at Augenklinik MVZ Holak and Hospital Central de San Isidro, assistant professor of ophthalmology and pharmacology at Universidad de Buenos Aires, and preclinical research assistant in ophthalmology at INGEBI-CONICET. Ignacio also served as the medical lead at Micromed®, where innovative projects integrating 3D technology for customized prosthetics were developed. Ignacio Ares holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Master's degree in Ophthalmology from the University of Buenos Aires.
