Christopher Butler

Christopher Butler is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academic research. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Chemistry at Odyssey Therapeutics since March 2024, Christopher previously held key leadership positions at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, including Senior Director and Director of Medicinal Chemistry. Prior to that, Christopher spent over a decade at Pfizer, progressing from Senior Scientist to Senior Director of Internal Medicine Chemistry. Early in the career, experience includes a Research Fellow role at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Research Associate position at Johnson & Johnson. Christopher holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University.
