Jan Rielaender

Jan Rielaender has over a decade of experience at the OECD, where currently serves as the Head of Unit for both Country Diagnostics and Strategy and Multidimensional Country Reviews. In this role, Jan leads efforts to identify growth, equity, and sustainability challenges while formulating evidence-based policies. Previous experience includes serving as an Economist focusing on Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as authoring significant annual themes for the African Economic Outlook, including topics on youth employment and global value chains. Jan's earlier career features roles as an Evaluation Officer at UNICEF and as a Consultant Evaluator for the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group. Jan holds two Master's degrees in Economics and International Relations from Syracuse University's Maxwell School, alongside a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Technische Universität Dresden.
