Melissa Binde

Melissa Binde is the current Chief Technical Officer at OfferUp. Prior to their current position, Binde served as the Vice President of Engineering, Cloud at Splunk from June 2019 to January 2022. In this role, they were responsible for all the teams required to deliver a reliable cloud experience to Splunk's applications and customers. These teams included data collection and ingestion, stream processing, indexing and storage, search and language, commerce, identity, connectivity, cloud security, site reliability, customer reliability, NOC and TechOps, traffic engineering, observability and tooling, and cloud business operations.

Binde previously worked as the Senior Director of Google Cloud Platform SRE at Google from January 2015 to May 2019. In this role, they led all the Site Reliability Engineering teams for Google Cloud Platform.

Before their time at Google, Binde served as the Director of Engineering Tools and Services at Nordstrom from April 2014 to October 2014. In this role, they were responsible for leading multiple agile devops automation teams focusing on areas such as software developer tools, quality engineering tools, enterprise portfolio management, process engineering and project management office, enterprise social tools, and intranet/sharepoint.

Binde also served as the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Persistent Systems from June 2012 to April 2014.

Melissa Binde has a B.A. in Computer Science from Swarthmore College and they also attended William Allen High School.
