Senior RF (Radio Frequency) Engineer at OffWorld

Maxence Carvalho has worked in a variety of roles since 2015. In 2017, they were a Research Assistant at The Ohio State University. In 2018, they were a Ph.D. Candidate and Postdoctoral Associate at Florida International University - College of Engineering & Computing. Here, they worked on the theory, design, fabrication, and verification of several components for a novel class of origami-based and deployable Tightly Coupled Dipole Arrays (TCDAs). Maxence also designed an on-chip horn antenna operating at W-band. In 2022, they are currently a Senior RF (Radio Frequency) Engineer at OffWorld, a robotics startup. Their role involves developing a robotic workforce for heavy industrial jobs on Earth, Moon, asteroids & Mars. Additionally, in 2015, they were an Étudiant and Renfort Social at the Centre Culturel Léonard de Vinci at Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile. Here, they were responsible for communication and organization of cultural events, as well as accounting for the association.

Maxence Carvalho has a long and varied educational history. Maxence began in 2009, when they earned their Baccalaur\u00e9at Scientifique from Lyc\u00e9e Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand, with an option in Physique-Chimie. From 2012 to 2015, they attended Lyc\u00e9e Blaise Pascal again, this time to complete Classes Pr\u00e9paratoires aux Grandes Ecoles, MPSI-MP. In 2015, they attended ENAC - Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile, where they completed the IENAC (Ing\u00e9nieur ENAC). Finally, from 2018 to 2021, they attended Florida International University - College of Engineering & Computing, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
