Francis Mosley has extensive work experience in various industries. Francis started their career as a 2nd Engineer on board a 57m, 600-tonne vessel, where they used their technical knowledge to solve complex problems and managed teams of contractors. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Science and Technical Adviser at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), where they developed and managed research projects and provided scientific and technical advice for policy development.

In 2019, Francis joined the Department for Transport (DfT) and took on multiple roles. As a Private Secretary to the DfT Chief Scientific Adviser, they worked closely with the CSA to develop and manage strategic science priorities and led a research program addressing COVID-19 transmission on public transport. Additionally, they served as an Intelligent Transport Systems Engineer, managing a £10 million traffic and technology research program and implementing projects on autonomous vehicle navigation and traffic management.

In 2021, Francis worked as a Senior Laboratory Advisor at the Food Standards Agency, where they developed and delivered a strategy for the UK's food safety laboratory system. Francis also implemented a horizon scanning function and led R&D programs to develop new testing methodologies.

Currently, Francis is a Senior Innovation and Systems Engineer at Ofgem, where they contribute to the development of strategies for a decarbonized and efficient energy system. Francis collaborates with Ofgem's strategy teams to address long-term issues such as low carbon technologies, flexibility, storage, and hydrogen.

Francis Mosley's education history begins in 2007 when they enrolled at The University of Sheffield. Francis pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed their studies in 2011.

After a gap of several years, Francis furthered their education by attending The University of Edinburgh in 2017. Francis pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sustainable Energy Systems, which they successfully completed in 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Francis also obtained two additional certifications. In November 2018, they completed the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) from the Association for Project Management. And in April 2020, they obtained the AgilePM® Practitioner certification from APMG International.
