Mathew Chandy

Policy Manager at Ofgem

Mathew Chandy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mathew currently holds the role of Policy Manager at Ofgem, starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at The Go-Ahead Group plc as a Rail Graduate from September 2021 to September 2022. In this role, they completed rotations in various areas of the railway industry and successfully wrote a Communications and Engagement Plan that was well-received by senior executives.

Before that, Mathew worked as a MA Research Assistant at the University of Warwick from February 2021 to July 2021. In this role, they supported Dr Lena Rethel in research related to finance and development, financial governance, and Islamic economies/finance. Mathew was responsible for diversity tracking of articles for the Review of International Political Economy.

Mathew's work experience also includes an internship at BOLT Global from July 2019 to September 2019. As a Research and Analysis Intern, they conducted detailed research on the Indian telecoms and video markets and gained exposure and experience in marketing and social media.

Mathew Chandy began their education journey in 2009 at Rutlish School, where they pursued their GCSE degree until 2014. Following this, they attended Tiffin School from 2014 to 2016, specializing in A Levels. Mathew then enrolled in the University of Warwick, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from 2017 to 2020. Subsequently, they continued their education at the same university, completing a Master of Arts degree in International Political Economy from 2020 to 2021.
