Angela P.

Angela P. has a diverse work experience in the field of plant biology and genetics. Angela currently works as an Associate Scientist at Ohalo Genetics since May 2022. Prior to that, they were a Research Associate at the same company from July 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining Ohalo Genetics, Angela worked as a Plant Physiology Applied Research Associate at Driscoll's from September 2020 to August 2021.

Angela also has extensive experience at BASF, where they worked as a Project Lead Cell Biology Services from August 2018 to January 2020. Their responsibilities included managing high-throughput tissue culture projects for vegetable clones and double haploids, delivering requested quantities, and focusing on crops like Melon, Watermelon, Onion, Pepper, and Tomato varieties.

Prior to BASF, Angela worked as a Project Lead Cell Biology Services and Research Technician at Bayer Crop Science from April 2016 to August 2018, where they managed the execution of cell biology protocols, performed tissue culture techniques, and utilized a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for data analysis.

Angela started their career as a Student Assistant II at Tomato Genetics Resource Center from October 2013 to May 2015, performing greenhouse and field operations and preparing seed samples for research. Angela also had an internship at Chetelat Lab in 2014, assisting in research on pollen self-incompatibility factors in Solanum species and cultivated tomatoes.

In addition to their work in the plant biology field, Angela has experience in administrative roles. Angela worked as an Advisor Services Administrative Assistant at Loring Ward in 2013, where they provided quality control and administrative support. Angela also worked as a Tutor/Assistant at Kumon from August 2011 to September 2012.

Angela P. completed their bachelor's degree in International Agricultural Development with a minor in Landscape Restoration from the University of California, Davis in the period between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they attended the College of San Mateo from 2009 to 2012 but did not obtain a degree, focusing on completing the IGETC program.

In addition to their formal education, Angela P. has obtained several certifications in data analysis and visualization. Angela completed courses such as "Data Analysis with R Programming," "Share Data Through the Art of Visualization," "Analyze Data to Answer Questions," "Process Data from Dirty to Clean," "Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions," "Prepare Data for Exploration," and "Data, Data, Everywhere" through Coursera. These certifications were obtained between April and December of 2022.
