Rebecca Wallace

VP, Communications at Ohio River South

For a quarter century, Rebecca Wallace has created and carried out communications strategies for dozens of advocacy groups, chambers of commerce, nonprofits and state and local governments. She developed an expertise in sustainability leading advocacy campaigns for the Atlanta Beltline and Peachtree Streetcar. That led to work as an independent consultant supporting the release of the City of Atlanta’s first carbon footprint report, as well as the launch of the city’s first sustainability plan.

Rebecca served as Communications Director at the start of her career for what became the Georgia Department of Economic Development. There she supported governors for company location announcements, launched initiatives such as the department’s regional service program, and conducted industry media tours across the state.

At her core, Rebecca is dedicated to improving the lives of people living in poverty. She currently supports clients that work at the intersections of poverty and local, healthy food; education; and cancer care. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Mercer University and a master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Georgia.

A graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute, Rebecca serves on the board of directors for Wholesome Wave Georgia and is past chair of the Center for Working Families and the League of Women Voters of Georgia.
