Ashok Patel

CEO at OHL USA

Ashok Patel is the Chief Executive Officer of OHL North America, a major unit of the OHL Group. In this role, he serves as the CEO of OHL USA and OHL Canada, with responsibility for the operations and activities of OHL Construction in the United States and Canada. He provides executive leadership to the company’s divisions and subsidiaries. He was appointed as CEO in 2017 after having served two years as COO of OHL North America.

Mr. Patel also serves as President of Judlau Contracting, Inc., a subsidiary of OHL USA. Under his leadership, Judlau has entered a period of sustained growth and expansion, by pursuing and successfully completing a range of projects via traditional and alternate delivery.

Previously, Mr. Patel worked at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority New York City Transit (MTA NYCT) and MTA Capital Construction for more than 23 years. He began his MTA career in 1986 in MTA NYCT’s Engineering and Construction Department and was named to the executive leadership position of Program Manager in 2003.

In the aftermath of 9/11, he worked on the development of MTA’s ambitious antiterrorism capital security program for MTA’s critical infrastructure hardening across all MTA agencies. Also during his tenure, he led NYCT’s $1.5 billion capital program for line equipment, shops, yards and facilities. Mr. Patel was awarded MTA NYCT’s President’s Circle Award in 2000 for his demonstrated ability in the areas of customer service, safety, innovation, productivity and quality.

Mr. Patel received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Indore, India, and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in New York. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York State.
