Steve Kraft

VP Machinery at Ojjo, Inc.

Steve Kraft has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Steve started their career as an R&D Manager at Berkeley Process Control, where they managed the development of high-performance machine control products. Steve then founded dxMachines LLC, where they designed network-enabled devices for residential solar power applications. This business was later sold to PowerLight, Inc. Steve also founded Tilt Solar LLC, which provided tracking systems for utility-scale solar energy applications, and was subsequently acquired by SunPower, Inc.

At SunPower Corporation, Steve served as a Lead Engineer and was responsible for the launch of the TMAC product, which is currently used in all SunPower power plant installations. Steve then worked as an Engineer while self-employed before joining Powerhive as the VP of Engineering. At Powerhive, they led the technology development for solar-powered electric microgrids for villages in developing countries.

Steve also worked as a Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley, where they designed and taught courses related to ME235 and ME230, focusing on digital design, embedded computing, and real-time software for mechanical system control.

Currently, Steve is serving as the VP of Machinery at Ojjo, Inc., where they oversee the design, development, and production of a custom construction machine used for utility solar power plant foundations. Steve also works as an Independent Consultant, providing expertise in embedded systems, data analysis, and company advisory roles.

Steve Kraft has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, which they obtained from 1981 to 1985. Steve also holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Controls from the University of California, Berkeley, completed from 1988 to 1989.
