Amy Ayres

VP for Student Affairs at Oklahoma City University

Dr. Amy Ayres joined the OKCU community in July 2015 as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. In this role, she has oversight of Counseling Services; Career Services; Dean of Students Office; Housing and Residence Life; Student Engagement, Inclusion, and Multicultural Programs; Student Conduct; Behavioral Intervention Team; Fraternity and Sorority Life; Student Government Association; and other engagement opportunities.

Dr. Ayres holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a master's degree in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. She completed her educational journey by obtaining a doctoral degree in Higher Education from UNT in 2007.

Most recently, Dr. Ayres served as Senior Director for Involvement and Engagement at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she supervised The Leadership Center, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Activities and Organizations, and University Events.

Previous to UTA, Dr. Ayres served the University of North Texas community for 15 years, much of that time as Associate Dean of Students. Her experience at UNT included the supervision of Student Activities and Organizations, Greek Life, the Substance Abuse Resource Center, the university’s student-initiated withdrawal process, and working closely with students in crisis.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Ayres dedicates her time as a national volunteer for Delta Gamma Fraternity, having served in numerous roles over the years. She also supports the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) as an Area Advisor.

Born and raised in small-town Oklahoma, Dr. Ayres has an appreciation for rural life and all of the beauty that it holds.
