Sufiyan Hassan has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sufiyan currently holds the position of Head of South East Asia, Trade and Structured Finance at Olam since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Standard Chartered Bank as the Director of Commodity Traders and Agribusiness from January 2019 to September 2022. Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, Sufiyan had an internship at Invesco Ltd. in 2018, where they focused on quantitative strategies in asset management. Sufiyan also served as a Senior Relationship Manager at National Bank of Abu Dhabi for a brief period in 2017. From 2009 to 2017, they held the position of Senior Relationship Manager- SEA and Australia at FGB. Sufiyan'scareer began at Citi, where they completed the Management Programme in Global Transaction Services from 2006 to 2009.
Sufiyan Hassan completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Leicester from 2004 to 2007. Sufiyan then pursued a Masters of Finance degree at the University of Cambridge from 2017 to 2018, where they received the Monetary Authority of Singapore scholarship. Sufiyan also attended Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and ACJC from 1996 to 2001. Sufiyan obtained additional certifications, including an Executive Certification in Structured Trade and Commodity Finance from Singapore Management University in 2014, Syndicated Loans certification from Asia Pacific Loans Markets Association in 2011, and a Professional Certification in Corporate Credit Approval from Singapore Management University in 2010.
