Graduate Research Training Initiative For Student Enhancement (g-rise) Scholar at Old Dominion University

Brian D. Hanson, Jr. is currently a Graduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) Scholar at Old Dominion University, where the program, funded by the National Institute of Health, aims to enhance diversity among students in biomedical research. Prior experience includes an internship at Old Dominion University's Frank Reidy Research Center Bioelectrics Summer Institute, where fabrication methodologies for glucose biofuel cells were optimized and mentorship was provided to middle and high school students. At the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Brian contributed as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, developing a temperature sensing system and conducting micro-fabrication processes. Internships at North Carolina State University and B&T Auto Center, LLC further developed research skills and IT expertise. Brian earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Old Dominion University.
