Role: VAT Manager (FTC - 6 months, part time-2/3 days per week)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom (Remote)

ROLE MISSION

As the VAT Manager, you will be part of the Global Finance Team, contributing towards The Group’s global Tax Compliance, Reporting and Advisory process. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with helping implement and improve processes and procedures; helping solve problems and challenges in the markets as they arise; performing administrative tasks; and getting involved in ad hoc projects.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Key responsibility is improvement of process and control for the UK and Global VAT compliance and return process. This will include, but not limited to:
    • Health check on current VAT process (UK & EMEA)
    • Initiate VAT health check globally
    • Improve data gathering (UK and EMEA)
    • Efficient interaction with local advisors (UK and EMEA)
    • Update current return preparation processes (UK and EMEA)
    • Provide updated guidance on VAT regulations
    • ERP efficiencies
  • Assist in the preparation and review of VAT returns (UK and EMEA)
  • To manage and minimise the risk of VAT issues
  • Ad-hoc project work as required. 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Qualified Accountant and/or preferably Tax advisor (ACA/ACCA/CTA)
  • 5+ years of post qualified experience ideally 
  • Experience in indirect taxes on a UK and international perspective
  • Highly computer literate - Advanced Excel skills; comfortable dealing with complex formulae
  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines (essential)
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally
  • High attention to detail
  • A can-do attitude
  • Driven and capable of driving process change and improvement
