Joel Sherrill

Joel Sherrill has extensive work experience. Joel began their career in 1986 as a Programmer at SCI Technology. In 1989, they became the Chief Scientist at OAR Corporation and the Project Lead at the RTEMS Project. Joel then served as the Director of R&D at OAR Corporation, where they were the maintainer of RTEMS and a champion of FOSS and standards based computing. In 2012, they joined the Network Time Foundation, Inc. as a Board Member.

Joel Sherrill obtained a B.S. in Computer Science from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga between 1982 and 1986. Joel then obtained an M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville between 1986 and 1990. Finally, they obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville between 1991 and 1999.
