Richard Jones

Richard Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Richard currently works as an Engineering Manager at On the Beach starting from 2022. Prior to this, they were an Engineering Manager at Truepill, where they managed multiple development teams and was responsible for delivering strategic initiatives to enterprise clients.

Richard also has extensive experience at Best Companies, where they held multiple roles. As a Principal Developer from 2018 to 2022, they were responsible for the software development and QA process across four autonomous product teams. Richard also played a significant role in product evolution, technology strategy, and department structure. Before that, they served as the Principal Product Development Manager, taking the technical lead for all development across all products, and as the Product Development Manager, managing a team of developers and overseeing the architecture of solutions.

Prior to their time at Best Companies, Richard worked at JH Austin Group as a Lead Analyst Developer from 2006 to 2013. Richard played a key role in delivering large-scale, business-critical projects and contributed to defining and adopting department standards and practices.

Richard's early career includes working as an Application Developer at Atos Origin, focusing on .NET Framework development and mentoring new team members. Richard also worked as a Script Developer at Moneysupermarket.com and as a Software Developer at Goldman Sachs.

Richard Jones attended St Davids School in Wrexham from 1991 to 1996, where they obtained their GCSE's in Maths, English, and Science. From 1996 to 1998, they studied at Coleg Cambria and obtained their A Levels in Maths, Physics, Computing, and Chemistry. Continuing their education, Richard enrolled at the University of York from 1998 to 2002, where they pursued a BSc degree in Computer Science & Maths.

In addition to their formal education, Richard also obtained certifications in Enterprise & Solution Architecture. In August 2016, they earned the Intermediate certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and also achieved the Practitioner level certification from BCS during the same month and year.
