Seth Guikema

Data Science Research Fellow at One Concern

Seth Guikema has been working in academia since 2005, beginning as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. In 2008, they moved to Johns Hopkins University, where they served as both an Assistant and Associate Professor. Later that same year, they became a Professor 2 at the University of Stavanger (UiS). In 2015, they became an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, and in 2017 they took on the role of Data Science Research Fellow at One Concern. In 2019, they became a Professor at the University of Michigan and President of the Society for Risk Analysis.

Seth Guikema completed a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University. Seth then went on to the University of Canterbury where they obtained a Master's of Engineering in Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, followed by a Masters of Engineering by Thesis in Civil Engineering. Guikema then attended Stanford University, where they obtained a Master's of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Engineering Risk and Decision Analysis.
