Summer Gaasedelen

Summer Gaasedelen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Summer started their career as a GRE Teacher at The Princeton Review in 2012. Summer then worked at Cornell College as an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, where they managed numerous print and email projects. Gaasedelen later became self-employed and focused on learning computer programming through coursework and attending various programming-related events.

In 2018, Gaasedelen joined Aviata as a QA Automation Engineer, where they tested applications using Selenium automation tools and provided documentation-writing training. Summer quickly moved up to become a QA Automation Engineer Team Lead, managing a team of seven engineers and overseeing workflow and documentation quality.

Gaasedelen's most recent role was at Onfido, where they held multiple positions. Summer started as a Lead Test Engineer, managing a team and leading upskilling workshops. Summer then became a Lead Software Engineer, overseeing software engineering teams, providing career development coaching, and leading the Engineering Leadership Guild. Their latest role at Onfido is Director of Implementation and Technical Services.

Throughout their career, Gaasedelen has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management abilities, and a focus on career development and education.

Summer Gaasedelen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from St. Olaf College, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. Summer later pursued non-degree seeking studies in Computer Science at the University of Iowa in 2016 and at the University of Northern Iowa briefly in the same year. In 2017, Summer also took non-degree seeking courses in Computer Science at The University of Dallas. Additionally, in 2011-2012, they pursued non-degree seeking studies in English at the University of Iowa.
