Jonathan Poissant

Lead Cloud Software Architect at Onica by Rackspace Technology

Jonathan Poissant has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jonathan began their career as a Developer at Jepca Inc in 2000, where they worked on eCommerce websites, communication modules, and provided client training. From 2002 to 2004, they joined Inoveo Technology Inc. as a Lead Software Developer, where they developed and maintained the company's billing application, designed a video-chat application, and created a fraud detection module.

In 2005, Poissant joined LoGograph as a Lead Software Developer, managing a team and working on projects such as a marketing CMS, entertainment industry websites, and games for children. Jonathan then moved on to Uniprix Inc in 2006 as a Senior Software Developer, focusing on the analysis and development of contract and orders applications, as well as project management and online prescription renewal platform development.

In 2012, Poissant joined Videotron trouve-tout/Smart Find as a Senior Software Developer, responsible for web application analysis, design, and development, as well as application support and maintenance. Jonathan also implemented development, QA, and production strategies for new application versions. That same year, they joined DataCandy as a Senior Software and Data Developer, managing the analysis and development of dashboards, reports, and data warehouses for loyalty and gift card programs.

In 2017, Poissant joined Lanla Mesure + Gestion Expérience Client as a Software Architect and later became the Lead Software Developer. During this time, they focused on technical leadership, architectural design, and software development.

Most recently, Poissant has worked at Onica by Rackspace Technology since 2019, first as a Cloud Software Developer and currently as a Lead Cloud Software Architect. In these roles, they have been responsible for developing software features, addressing product bugs, and participating in agile delivery teams. Jonathan has also acted as a technical liaison between customers and engineering resources, leading teams and educating customers on the value of AWS. Jonathan has further worked on cloud transitions, architectural discussions, and establishing credibility with customers.

Jonathan Poissant has a diverse education history. In 1990, they completed their General Studies at Ecole Secondaire Lemoyne-d'Iberville, where they obtained their DES degree. Jonathan then pursued further education in Computer Science at Cégep Edouard-Montpetit from 1996 to 1998. Afterward, Jonathan attended College CDI from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained an AEC degree in Analyst/Programmer.

In addition to their formal education, Jonathan has also obtained several certifications. In 2015, they completed an Introduction to R course from DataCamp. In 2019, they achieved the AWS Certified Developer – Associate and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Continuing their professional development, they completed the Understanding and Supporting ADHD Colleagues in the Workplace course from LinkedIn in 2022. The same year, they also obtained the Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design certification from LinkedIn and the Learner certification from Rackspace Technology. More recently, in 2023, Jonathan obtained the AWS Partner: Accreditation (Technical) and Well-Architected Proficient certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
