Daniel Steenstra

Chief Scientific Officer at OnKAI

Daniel Steenstra has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. Daniel is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at OnKAI Inc. since February 2017. Prior to this, they were a Founding Member of the European Health Futures Forum (EHFF), a not-for-profit organization focused on improving the health and healthcare in Europe through an open and inclusive forum. Daniel started their tenure at EHFF in January 2013.

In addition to their work at EHFF, Daniel has also been a Visiting Professor Design at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi'an, PR China since November 2002, and the Owner of InterAlign Organisation Ltd since January 2000.

Daniel has been associated with WMG, University of Warwick since September 1997 as a Module Lead. Their role there is ongoing and they are responsible for leading modules related to their area of expertise.

Daniel has also held the position of RAEng Visiting Professor in Medical Innovation at Cranfield University from October 2009 to February 2017.

Previously, Daniel was the Managing Director of HealthTech Organisation Ltd from January 2007 to June 2008. Daniel played a key role in setting up the HealthTech project at the University of Warwick in 2003, which supported the development of medical technologies and diversification into the healthcare sector. The project successfully concluded in December 2008, generating significant sales and job opportunities.

Daniel has also served as the Director of Viadynamics Ltd from March 1999 to March 2000, and as a Project Stylist at Jaguar Cars from 1990 to 1997.

Daniel Steenstra attended Bonifatius College from 1970 to 1976, where they completed their high school education. Daniel then pursued a degree in Medicine at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1979 to 1986, earning their MSc in the field.
