Mark K. has been working in the engineering industry for over forty years. Mark began their career in 1977 at Shure Incorporated as a Development Engineer - Automated Test. In 2003, they moved to Sound Devices, LLC as a Software Engineer where they planned, designed, implemented, and validated embedded software for new pro audio product designs using C++. In 2012, they joined Accuray as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer and Supervisor, and then Lead Embedded Software Engineer and Supervisor, where they collaborated with a team to design and implement embedded control systems for the Radixact radiation therapy device, maintained install base, and implemented and released software to improve customer uptime. Mark also championed and led the conversion of code base from VxWorks OS to real-time Linux. In 2021, they joined OnLume as a Senior Development Engineer.

Mark K. has a diverse educational background. Mark completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan between 1992 and 1996. Mark also received a Bachelor of Science Three-year (BS) in Computer Science from the same university between 1992 and 1997. In 2000, Mark K. graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Queen's University. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Google in Agile Project Management, Project Execution: Running the Project, Project Planning: Putting It All Together, Foundations of Project Management, and Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project between April and July 2021.
