Michael Zboray has 40 years of experience in information technology. Most recently, Mike was Gartner’s Chief Information Security Officer for 17 years. During his tenure, he evolved the program from a basic set of security controls to an implementation of an ISO 27001 information security management system. Additionally, under Michael’s leadership, Gartner was among the first to implement a supplier security management system and a systematic security program to minimize vulnerabilities in application development.
Previous to his role as CISO, Michael was a founding analyst for Gartner’s information security service and was the service’s lead analyst setting the service’s research agenda. Before joining Gartner, Michael was a director of product management and marketing at Ascom Timplex where he was responsible for data communications products and managed the profitability and marketing of several product lines. Michael began his career at Bell Telephone Laboratories working with data communication technologies, microprocessor control systems and desktop computing.
