Evgeny Nuger, Ph.D., P.Eng., has a diverse work experience in engineering and research roles. Evgeny is currently working as an Engineering Manager at OnsiteIQ, where they manage a team of developers and researchers and actively contributes to the development of image processing and AI analytics. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior AI Engineer at OnsiteIQ.

Before joining OnsiteIQ, Evgeny worked at Thales as a Senior Researcher, focusing on computer vision, and as a System Analyst for the Research and Technology team of the Urban Rail Systems group. In these roles, they were responsible for the research, design, and development of safety-critical systems for autonomous rail-based vehicles, as well as the implementation of software versioning control and standardization of software-development practices.

Evgeny also has experience working at the University of Toronto as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they conducted research on computer vision enabled robots and human-robot interaction. Evgeny also worked as a Candidate for Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, conducting research on shape recovery and 3D modeling from multiple cameras. In addition, they served as the Head Teaching Assistant for two courses, Probability and Statistics with Engineering Applications and Manufacturing Engineering.

Earlier in their career, Evgeny worked at SNC-Lavalin as an Engineer in Training in the Mining & Metallurgy department, where they designed engineering drawings and developed 3D CAD models for international projects. Evgeny also served as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at SNC-Lavalin, working on mechanical platework design and 3D mechanical components for plant layout.

Evgeny's work experience also includes a Quality Engineering Co-op position at Magna International, where they provided statistical analysis of defect parts and standardized ISO plant standards for improved workflow efficiency.

Evgeny Nuger, Ph.D., P.Eng. has a diverse education background in the fields of Computer Vision & Mechatronics, Machine Learning, Computer Software Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Evgeny started their educational journey in 2008 at the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. In order to further enhance their knowledge and skillset, Evgeny Nuger joined Udacity in 2017 and successfully completed the Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree program, focusing on Computer Software Engineering. Evgeny then pursued a Deep Learning Nanodegree at Udacity from 2018 to 2019, specializing in Machine Learning.
