Howard Simkevitz

Howard Simkevitz is a seasoned legal and privacy professional currently serving as General Counsel and Privacy Officer at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research since April 2013. Additionally, Howard holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Business Management at Toronto Metropolitan University since September 2011 and has been the Principal of Simkevitz Law since October 2012. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Privacy and Information Technology Counsel at Bell Canada from November 2008 to September 2012, and Associate positions at Lang Michener LLP and Goodman and Carr LLP. Howard began a career in information systems and research at UPMC from 1994 to 2001. Academic credentials include an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, an MSPPM in Technology Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Western University.
