Jared Simpson

Jared Simpson is a Senior Principal Investigator at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research since May 2013 and serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto since May 2015. With experience as a Principal Investigator and Fellow at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, and prior roles including Consultant positions at Illumina and Moleculo, Inc., and Research Associate and PhD Student at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Jared has a solid background in computational biology. Earlier career stages include a Computational Biologist role at the Genome Sciences Centre and a Software Engineer position at Electronic Arts. Jared holds a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Cambridge (2008-2012) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia (1999-2004).
