Michael Prakesch is a highly experienced research scientist with a focus on medicinal chemistry and organic synthesis. Since January 2008, Michael has held various positions at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, including Principal Research Scientist and Lab Manager, as well as Senior Research Scientist and Medicinal Chemistry Lab Manager. Prior to this, a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Research Council from September 2004 to January 2008 involved solid phase synthesis methods for generating natural product-like polycyclic derivatives. Michael also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal, focusing on stereocontrol in radical tandem reactions. Educationally, Michael holds a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Université de Rennes I (1999-2003), a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Université Louis Pasteur (1997-1998), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemistry and Physics from Ecole nationale supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux (1994-1997).
