Sharon Chilcott

Chief of Staff at Ontario Teachers'​ Pension Plan

Sharon Chilcott joined Ontario Teachers’ in 2014 and was appointed Chief of Staff on September 1, 2021. Sharon is responsible for leading the daily operations and administration of the Office of the CEO.

As a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, Sharon works closely with key partners across the business to drive the execution of the goals and objectives set out in Ontario Teachers’ enterprise strategy and help progress critical initiatives.

A leading law professional with more than two decades of experience, Sharon has specialized in employment and labour law in both the private and public sector, including employment standards, labour relations, human rights, wrongful dismissal litigation, occupational health and safety, privacy, workplace safety and insurance matters.

Sharon joined Ontario Teachers in 2014 to manage employment law and labour relations issues. She was promoted to Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Employment Law & Litigation in 2017, overseeing all enterprise contracts and litigation matters and was most recently appointed Corporate Secretary in 2019.

She started her career as an associate lawyer at one of Canada's top business law firms, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. She then pursued an opportunity to work at Slaughter and May in London before qualifying as a Solicitor in the UK, where she then accepted a position at Allen & Overy.

Sharon earned an LLB from the University of Toronto and a BA in Political Science and French at York University.
