Mechanical Design Engineer at Onto Innovation

Dan Serviss has a diverse work experience background. Dan is currently employed as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Onto Innovation since May 2021. Prior to this role, Dan worked at Rockwell Automation for several years. From 2015 to 2021, they served as a Hardware Development Engineer in the Kinetix Motion Control business, designing AC servo motors. Dan'sresponsibilities included designing, testing, and documenting various projects during the development cycles. Dan also evaluated prototypes and participated in the release of the VPC servo motor to the public.

Before their role as a Hardware Development Engineer, Dan served as a Product Quality Intern at Rockwell Automation in 2014 and 2013. During their internship, they analyzed product quality warranty returns, troubleshooted motors and their parts, and designed electrical cabinets and motor coupling test frames. Dan also served as a Student Associate Engineering Intern at Rockwell Automation in 2012, where they conducted qualification motor testing, designed and tested tooling for motor assembly, and programmed a winding machine for motor stator assembly.

Before joining Rockwell Automation, Dan worked as a Cashier at Fresh Seasons Market from 2007 to 2012. In addition to operating cash registers, they also bagged groceries, assisted customers to their cars, and performed various tasks in the dairy and grocery department.

Dan Serviss received their education from various institutions. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics at Carthage College, completing their studies in 2012. Dan also attended Hopkins High School, where they earned their diploma between 2006 and 2009. Additionally, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Rockwell Automation in September 2020.
