Shane Eckel

Shane Eckel is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in UI and full-stack development. Currently serving as Principal Engineer, UI at Onward Robotics since September 2021, Shane leads a team in the design, development, and strategy of UIs for both cloud and robotics applications. Prior roles at Onward Robotics include Senior Engineer, where Shane managed staffing and technical communication, and UI Engineer, where Shane initiated UX research practices and developed a React application leveraging Python backends. Previously, Shane held positions such as Senior Full Stack Engineer at Bessemer Alliance, where Shane contributed to the Voyant conversation tool, and Senior Front End Engineer at Carnegie Mellon University. Additional background includes a Lead Front End Engineer role at Branding Brand, contributing to mobile commerce websites for Fortune 500 companies, and experience as an Interactive Developer at MARC USA, developing applications for major brands. Shane holds an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institutes.
