Martin McLarnon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Martin started their career as an Electrical Engineering intern at Randox in 2001, where they assisted in the development of the Evidence Biomedical analyzer.
In 2005, they joined Kelman North America as a Customer Support Engineer and played a key role in the company's exponential growth in the transformer monitoring business. Martin prioritized customer service and developed domain expertise, contributing to the company's dominant position in the industry.
In 2007, McLarnon became a Sales Manager at GE after the acquisition of Kelman. Martin developed sales strategies for monitoring equipment across various market segments, achieving the highest sales for the company in a single year. Martin successfully secured large fleet-wide projects and provided technical presentations to customers and at conferences. Martin also incorporated wider GE products and services for applications such as smart grid, thermal generation, renewable generation, and industrial processes.
From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Sales Director at ADA Carbon Solutions, where they helped utilities meet new MATS regulations for mercury emissions from power plants. Martin developed deep customer relationships and identified unique customer needs to provide winning strategies and support the company's goals.
McLarnon joined Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. in 2016 as a Senior Business Development Manager, supporting Wind construction and Transmission and Distribution (T&D) construction. Martin expanded RES's presence with utility customers and strengthened relationships with existing renewable energy developer customers.
In 2019, they transitioned to the role of Assistant Project Manager at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc., where they were involved in building the Mountain Breeze Wind Farm. Martin contributed from the estimation stage to final completion and successfully managed daily project challenges.
From 2020 to 2021, McLarnon served as a Strategic Account Manager at Harvest Energy Services, Inc., where they focused on wind projects. Martin provided the full range of Balance-of-Plant (BOP) services and worked with customers to deliver cost-competitive, quality EPC projects.
In 2021, McLarnon joined Workrise as a Senior Sales Manager, specializing in Renewable Energy. Martin supported multiple Sales Account Managers across North America for Harvest Energy Services and Workrise. Martin provided best-in-class O&M services for wind and supported the growing construction team in mechanical, electrical, civil, and solar projects.
Currently, McLarnon holds the position of Senior Sales Manager at ONYX Insight, starting in 2022.
Martin McLarnon earned their Masters degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Queen's University Belfast, completing their studies from 1999 to 2004. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications such as the OSHA 30 Hour Outreach Training Program - Construction from the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) in November 2017, and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute in January 2017.
