Álvaro Suárez Bravo has over 15 years of experience in software engineering and blockchain technology. In 2021, they became the CTO and Director Técnico at Onyze, a startup building and offering scalable crypto services to financial institutions. As CTO, they are responsible for defining and establishing the technology strategy to achieve the company's goals, researching, developing, and testing various technologies based on blockchain, leading the design and architecture of the core protocols, designing and leading the development process to ensure quality, assisting the team with writing and maintaining up-to-date documentation, being involved in the blockchain community, and mentoring and growing other engineers.

Prior to this, they were a Blockchain, Crypto & DeFi Educator from 2018 to 2021, where they taught Blockchain Fundamentals: Bitcoin and Ethereum, Ethereum Smart Contracts Programming, Oracles, Decentralized Storage & Privacy, and was the author of The Fundamentals of Bitcoin. Álvaro was also the DLT-Lab Technical Lead at Grupo BME from 2018 to 2021, where they analyzed the viability of initiatives and projects with blockchain technology, lead the definition of the architecture, design, development, and deployment of blockchain solutions, coordinated, trained and supervised the DLT Lab development team's work, and coordinated with other internal and external technical teams.

From 2011 to 2018, they were the Lead Developer at Dymaxium Inc., where they designed and implemented multimedia software for interactive computer software-based training and support applications for the pharmaceutical industry. From 2008 to 2011, they were the Simulation Development Engineer at Indra Systems, where they developed the Instructor Operation Station for the Eurofighter simulator in Eurofighter Programme (ASTA). Lastly, from 2006 to 2008, they were a Software Engineer at Telefónica, where they designed and developed web applications using MVC - 4 layers architecture with tidforms framework, including multi-threading techniques, and developed and implemented software for Telefonica R+D.

Álvaro Suárez Bravo's education history includes a Computer Engineering degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid between 2002 and 2007, a Master Degree in Computer Science from the same university between 2007 and 2009, an Executive Program in Project Management - PMI Methodology from Escuela de Organización Industrial in 2015 and 2016, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2016, a 2018 Developer Program from Consensys Academy in 2018, a Blockchain for Business - An Introduction to Hyperledger Technologies certification from The Linux Foundation in 2018, and a Cybersecurity Fundamentals certification from edX in 2018. Álvaro also holds certifications for Corda Certified Developer from R3 in 2020, Developer Program from ConsenSys Academy in 2018, Blockchain for Business - An Introduction to Hyperledger Technologies from The Linux Foundation in 2018, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2016.
