Derek Hilder

Derek Hilder has a long and varied work experience. Derek began their career in 1994 as a Software Engineer for the BC Ministry of Education. In 1996, they moved to Apple Computer, Inc. as a Software Engineer/Scientist. In 1997, they joined Sun Microsystems, Inc. as a Software Engineer. In 2005, they became a System Architect and Software Engineer at CSC. In 2011, they joined Disney Online Studios as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2014, they became the Technical Lead at Disney Interactive, where they were responsible for defining and implementing a cloud-based micro-services architecture. In 2019, they became the Director of Engineering at Oooh.

Derek Hilder attended the University of Victoria from 1988 to 1993, where they earned a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics.
