Mikko Lehtonen

Mikko Lehtonen (PhD) has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mikko currently serves as the Head of Analytics at OP Financial Group, where they lead a team in managing group-wide QBR framework, driving agile transformation, and coaching agile leadership. Prior to this, they held positions such as Head of Value Management Center of Excellence, Head of Dependency Management and Head of Portfolio Management Support, and Head of OP Productivity Improvement Program at the OP Financial Group.

Before joining OP Financial Group, Mikko Lehtonen worked as a Mentor at Vertical health accelerator and as the Director of Advanced Technologies at Amer Sports Corporation, where they were responsible for global technology strategy and internal development projects. Mikko also had a brief stint at Microsoft as a Senior Manager in Lumia Portfolio Planning.

Their earlier career included positions at Nokia, where they served as a Senior Manager in Lumia Portfolio Planning, Software Product Manager for Cellular, Meego Computers, and Project Manager for Hardware, Nokia Gear. Mikko began their career as a Research Scientist at Helsinki University of Technology, conducting research on supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers.

Additionally, Mikko Lehtonen gained work experience as a summer trainee at Planmeca Oy. Overall, their work experience showcases a strong background in analytics, strategic planning, agile transformation, and research.

Mikko Lehtonen (PhD) obtained their Doctor of Science (Technology) degree in Laser Physics & Fiber Optics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (Tech) in Electrical Engineering and Product development at the same institution from 1998 to 2002.
