Tobias Häfner's work experience starts in 2007 as a Research and Development Engineer at Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH. Tobias then worked as a System Engineer at SBB from 2010 to 2013. In 2015, they served as an Intern, Master Thesis at the European Astronaut Centre. Later in the same year, they joined ESA/ESTEC as a Mechanism Engineer - National Trainee, where they worked until 2017. From 2017, Tobias worked at Open Cosmos, first as a Technical Project Manager until 2020, and then as a Team Lead AOCS, Mechanical & AIT until 2023. Currently, they are employed as a Flight Segment Manager at ClearSpace.
Tobias Häfner has a diverse education history in the field of space science and technology. Tobias started their academic journey in 1999 and earned a Certificate of proficiency in Automation from Asea Brown Boveri in 2003. Following this, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Microtechnology from Berner Fachhochschule BFH, completing it in 2007. Later, they focused on space science and technology, completing multiple Master's degrees. From 2013 to 2014, they studied at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. In 2014, they gained knowledge in the same field at Luleå University of Technology. Finally, in 2014 and 2015, Tobias Häfner pursued a Master's degree in Space Science and Technology at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III.
