Matt Hernandez

Matt Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Matt currently holds the position of Lead Developer in Apps & Tooling Development at OPEN MINDS Circle, where they have been working since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Web Developer at the same company from February 2021 to January 2022.

Before joining OPEN MINDS Circle, Matt worked as a Web Developer at Toned Magazine from May 2020 to January 2022. Matt also served as a Consultant at Synaptiq from September 2020 to February 2021.

In 2020, Matt attended Juno College of Technology's Web Development Immersive Bootcamp, where they acquired essential skills and knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, responsive design principles, and web accessibility. During this time, they completed several projects showcased on their portfolio website.

Matt gained experience in the finance industry as an Investment Reporting Analyst at Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. from December 2018 to August 2019. Matt also worked as an Intern at Lang School of Business and Economics - University of Guelph's Dean's Office from May 2017 to August 2017.

Additionally, Matt has held various leadership positions in student associations. Matt was a Board Director at the Central Student Association (CSA) - Local 54 Canadian Federation of Students from July 2015 to May 2017. Matt also served as Vice President of External Affairs and Chairperson at the College of Business and Economics Students' Association from May 2016 to April 2017 and from May 2015 to April 2016, respectively.

Matt gained customer service experience as a Product Specialist at Apple from May 2016 to January 2017, and as a Barista at Starbucks from May 2015 to July 2016.

Matt Hernandez has a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. Additionally, they have completed a Web Development Immersive Bootcamp, Continuing Education in Accelerated Javascript, and Continuing Education in Web Development from Juno College of Technology.
