Melanie Garunay is an experienced digital strategist currently serving as the Head of Digital at Open Society Foundations since December 2021. Previously, Garunay held leadership roles in various organizations, including Director of Strategy and Content at Wide Eye, Director of Content and Creative for Warren for President, and Managing Principal, Creative at Precision. Garunay also has experience with the ACLU as Digital Organizing Director, and served in high-profile positions such as Deputy Director for Digital Outbound for the Office of Digital Strategy at The White House and Deputy Director for Digital Media for U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid. Additional roles include Head of Marketing and Communications at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Outbound Producer at Obama for America, and Web Manager at the Third World Center. Garunay earned a BA in International Relations from Brown University in 2011.
