David Luks has extensive experience in the technology industry. David currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at OpenGov Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as VP of Engineering at Lucidworks from December 2020 to September 2022, where they led a distributed Product Engineering team and oversaw the development of an AI-first search product.

Before joining Lucidworks, David worked at TiVo, where they held various roles including Vice President of Engineering & Operations from July 2017 to December 2020, and Senior Director of Product Engineering, Personalized Content & Discovery from February 2014 to July 2017. At TiVo, they managed global engineering, QA, and devops teams and drove significant subscriber growth.

Prior to TiVo, David was the Vice President of Engineering at Digitalsmiths - A TiVo Company from December 2009 to February 2014. David built an Engineering team and led the development of Personalized Search & Recommendations and Data Analytics products, playing a key role in the company's acquisition.

Earlier in their career, David worked at NetApp as a Senior Manager from December 2006 to December 2009, where they led the development of NetApp's manageability platform and received praise for improving user experience. David also served as the Director of Development at Motricity, Inc. from May 2000 to December 2006, where they managed a team for product delivery and implementations.

David's career began at EBT/Electronic Book Technologies/Inso in August 1991 as a Software Engineer/Project Lead. David played a pivotal role in the online SGML document delivery market and contributed to the development of a unique XML/SGML document management tool before the company was acquired in 1996.
