Hongwei Zhao

Hongwei Zhao has a wealth of experience in photonics engineering. Hongwei began their career in 2012 as a Teaching Assistant at Boston University. In 2013, they became a Research Assistant at Boston University's Integrated Photonics Lab. In 2015, they held a Research Internship at MERL and a Postdoc Researcher and Research Assistant position at the University of California Santa Barbara. In 2020, they joined Juniper Networks as a Photonics Design Engineer and Photonics Test Engineer. Currently, they are a Photonic Design Engineer at OpenLight.

Hongwei Zhao began their educational journey in 2004, when they received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Hongwei then went on to receive a Master's degree in the same field from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. After that, they pursued a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Boston University from 2012 to 2015. Finally, they completed their PhD in the same field at UC Santa Barbara from 2015 to 2019.
