Gregory Thiemonge has a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on open source software and Linux. Gregory is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, where they have been since 2019. Prior to this, Gregory held positions at various companies such as OpenStack, where they served as the Octavia Project Team Lead, and Enea AB, where they worked as an Open Source Software Engineer in the Innovation Team. Gregory also has experience at Enea, Qosmos Division, where they worked as an Open Source Software Engineer in the CTO Office and as a Senior Software Developer. Gregory's earlier experience includes roles at Zodiac Aerospace, Open Wide, Sagem Communications, Alten, VirtualLogix, Inc., and Anevia, where they worked as a Linux Engineer and Embedded Linux Engineer.

Gregory Thiemonge completed their education at two different institutions. From 1999 to 2001, they attended Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I) and earned a DUT degree in GEII (Génie Électrique et Informatique Industrielle). Following this, from 2003 to 2005, Gregory pursued further education at the same university and received a Master's Degree in Computer Science.
