Alan Mercer

Alan Mercer has a strong background in information security and governance. Alan is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at The Openwork Partnership, where they started in August 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Governance & Assurance at the same company from April 2022 to August 2022.

Before joining The Openwork Partnership, Alan worked at Paragon Customer Communications as the Director of Technology Services - Assurance & Security Operations from February 2020 to April 2022. Alan also served as the IT Governance Director from October 2019 to February 2020.

From June 2017 to October 2019, Alan worked as the IT Governance Director - UK, Europe & China at RR Donnelley. Prior to that, they held several roles at iPipeline, including Director of Global Security & Compliance from September 2013 to June 2017.

Alan Mercer obtained a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Leeds in 1990. Alan later completed an MSc in Information Security at Luleå University of Technology from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, they hold multiple certifications in the field of cybersecurity, including CCISO, GCTI, Cisco CCNA/CCDA + Security, CISSP, GSNA, and GSEC.
