Julie Rooney

Julie Rooney is a legal professional with extensive experience in privacy law and general counsel roles. Currently serving as the Chief Privacy Officer and Deputy General Counsel at OpenX since May 2021, Julie has previously held positions such as Deputy General Counsel and Head of U.S. Privacy, along with Legal Director in the U.S. at the same company. Prior experience includes an associate role at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and various legal internships, including a legal externship at the Tennessee Attorney General's Office and positions at the Vera Institute of Justice and USAID. Julie holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy and International Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Denison University. Additional academic experiences include a semester abroad in Indonesia with the School for International Training.
